Top of the League!!!

Unfortunately due to injuries ranging from, “I can run, but not very fast and kicking is quite painful” to “I can’t walk properly, I look like I’ve shit myself” and “My elbow is still bigger than my forehead” neither Chris, Nick or I could make it to the Bishops Stortford match on Saturday. Instead we decided to celebrate Chris’ engagement by going out binge drinking.
As with all of our matches I know very little about what happened, but can vaguely remember overhearing a telephone conversation between Chris and James. At this point we’d had about 7-8 pints and it was still only 6.30pm. From what little I can remember, the mighty Sawston triumphed 14-13 away to Bishop’s Stortford IIIs. The try scorers were Francois and Callum with two conversions from young Vaseline legs himself.
An unbelievable result with a make shift team that takes us to top of the league. Albeit with a vastly inferior points difference, but I’m sure we’ll put that right in due course. Well done lads! Chris, Nick and I were slightly upset on Saturday night though as it appears that you don’t need us any more. 3 former players of the year completely surplus to requirements! The good news is that we do appear to be better at drinking than we are at rugby so it looks like we’ll have to take that up instead.
