Players, friends of players, strangers, anyone that wants to have a weekend away, it's time. Tour time.
We are playing the away match against Poblenou Enginyers in Barcelona on April 10th 2010. Of course it's a few months away but we need to get flights and accomodation booked ASAP to make sure it is as cheap as possible.
To allow us to do this we need a deposit from everyone who wants to come. £20 is all that is required to ensure your place in what is guaranteed to be a frickin awesome weekend. Cheques should be made payable to Sawston Rugby Club.
The plan is to adopt the same plan as last time, fly early Sat am and fly back Sunday afternoon. This is obviously to make it as cost effective as possible. If you want to arrange your own flights this is fine but we still need a deposit from you for accomodation.
The actual total cost is not yet known. At the moment flights are approx £100, hotel is £40 and insurance is likely to be £20 but this could easily increase if we don't book soon. My advice is to budget on £200 plus beer so that you can definitely afford it. I feel sure it will come in at less than this but we don't want to say for definite until we are in a position to book it.
For those who didn't come along two years ago I can tell you it was one of the best weekends I've ever had. There are still so many stories that circulate around the club even now. From watching our Welsh teammates chase naked people down a nudist beach to Welf being made to drink 3 times regurgitated tequila in an incredibly disgusting and bizarre drinking ritual. The Spanish really are magnificant hosts from the free beer keg they provided to amazing bbq steaks and sausages after the match. You really don't want to miss out.
To book your place please bring your £20 to the club before November 30th.
Finally, for RFU insurance purposes you must have paid your subs to be allowed to come on tour. £60, cheques made payable to Sawston Rugby Club.
